Aussie Skate Program (during school terms)
Please note: All Aussie Skate bookings and enquiries should be either in person or by calling (02) 9888 1100. We can not book you in via email. Thank you for your cooperation.
An updated Aussie Skate Program was instigated by Ice Skating Australia (ISA) in 2010 with standardised skills and levels throughout Australia. Macquarie Ice Rink and its Professional Coaches have enthusiastically embraced this new format, and 2010 saw the successful introduction of the Program.
The Aussie Skate Program has been specifically designed to enable skaters of all ages and all ability levels to progress at their own pace.
Aussie Skate classes are conducted during school term periods in group lessons with a maximum of 12 skaters per Coach, and each 4 or 5 week Program includes weekly admission, skate rental, half hour lessons, half hour practice in the same session, and an extra free practice per week during the last hour of public sessions.
Classes are held on Monday evenings, Thursday afternoons and Saturday mornings. Monday night classes are reserved for 14 years + / adults only. Beginner skaters aged 4 to 6 must enrol in Tiny Tots classes, and beginner skaters aged 7+ must enrol in Basic 1 classes. Skaters who can already do the skills required in a particular level will be moved up by the Coach to a more appropriate level and not held back.
