We recently held our first end of year recital. We featured skaters from our Learn to Skate program through to our Club Champions, State, National and International representatives.
It was a fun time for all involved and we are looking forward to doing more in the future.
INTERNATIONAL ICE HOCKEY LEGENDS AT MACQUARIE ICE RINK
Charity night in support of StopConcussions Foundation
Sydney, 2 June 2017 -- On Friday 16 June, Macquarie Ice Rink will play host to some of world’s greatest ice hockey players when NHL stars from Canada and the USA make a special appearance for a charity event in support of the StopConcussions Foundation.
Kicking off at 5.15pm, the all-star line-up includes Canada Head Coach Darryl Sittler (former Toronto Maple Leafs Captain and Top 100 Greatest NHL Players of all time), USA Coach David “Tiger” Williams, and special guest Denis Lemieux from hockey film favourite Slapshot. Local fans will also enjoy a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to meet players representing the Arizona Coyotes, Dallas Stars, Calgary Flames, Chicago Blackhawks.
Dr Frank Gregg, owner of Macquarie Ice Rink, is thrilled to be hosting some of the game’s most elite athletes at the rink in support of such a great cause.

A pre-cursor to the Ice Hockey Classic at Qudos Arena on June 17, the action packed event will include open practice games, skills competition, a kids’ clinic, Hockey Hall of Fame Display and a silent auction with an autographed Maple Leafs Jersey up for grabs.
The night coincides with the local showdown between home ground favourite the Sydney Ice Dogs and reigning premiership champions of the Australian Ice Hockey League (AIHL), the Newcastle Northstars.

A SYDNEY SHOWDOWN AT MACQUARIE ICE RINK
Sydney Bears take on the Sydney Ice Dogs for the Season Opener
Sydney, April 19 2017 -- On Saturday 22 April, two rival ice hockey teams, the Sydney Bears and the Sydney Ice Dogs, will go head to head in the season opener of the Australian Ice Hockey League (AIHL).
Dr Frank Gregg, owner of Macquarie Ice Rink, is excited to welcome competitive ice hockey back to the venue for the first time since 1999.
“With 8 teams across the country competing in the Australian Ice Hockey League, its profile within the community is on the rise. We can’t wait to welcome spectators out to our new look rink,” he said.
Of the 116 games AIHL 2017 season, 28 are set to be played at newly refurbished Macquarie Ice Rink between now and August. The venue has seating for up to 2000 people. At capacity, the atmosphere will be electric at the much anticipated season opener.
